P.E.S.C.A. - Health Nutrition Education ProjectDescription
The purpose of the PESCA-Health Nutrition Education Project was to introduce more local food into Slovenian and Italian school institutions and to bring local ingredients, products and selected typical dishes (three Slovenian and three Italian) to students in a cognitively sensory approach so as not to advance them refused.
The RDA Green Karst participated in the implementation of the project as an external contractor to the LAG partner of the Association for Rural Development between Snežnik and Nanos. In the Ilirska Bistrica area, we conducted workshops and other educational activities throughout the school year in two selected pilot elementary schools. Through various activities, the students were encouraged to perceive their abilities and to train their five senses in learning about and consuming particular foods and meals. Thus, we have tried to reduce the prejudices about lesser-known foods and foods that children typically reject.
