The D-STAR TUR project will tackle a group of recognized challenges by developing cycling tourism, which will be based on the European-recognized "Baltic-Adriatic" long-distance cycling route, also known as EuroVelo9. EuroVelo9 is part of the European network of long-distance cycling routes EuroVelo, which counts 19 different routes branching across the continent. Being part of the EuroVelo network reflects the potential that EuroVelo9 can exploit to become one of the most successful long-distance cycling routes in Europe, generating additional tourist visits and revenue in a sustainable way.
